Michigan Summit Draws Presidential Hopefuls, Capacity Crowd

Over 800 people packed into an overflow ballroom at Laurel Manor in Livonia, Michigan, for Americans for Prosperity Foundation’s Defending the American Dream Summit on Saturday.

U.S. Senator John McCain, former Governor Mitt Romney, ABC’s John Stossel, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, The Wall Street Journal’s Steve Moore, Grover Norquist, and other state and federal legislators addressed Americans for Prosperity members from across Michigan just three days before the critically important Michigan Republican presidential primary.

In addition to this impressive line-up of speakers, hundreds of participants received extensive grassroots training from leading national experts in the field.

The Michigan event was the first of what will be 20 Summits in states across the country this year, following up on the huge success of the over 1,600 Americans for Prosperity members that attended the national Defending the American Dream Summit in October.

Media coverage of the Summit was extensive, with over 75 state and national news outlets covering the event.
